Day 1: First Impressions
Alright, the USHAS palette finally showed up. The box was actually surprisingly sturdy, no dents or anything, but the shipping notification email went straight to my spam folder for some reason. My first thought was, “Wow, that’s a lot of pans.” You get a big, slim magnetic case with a huge mirror and 16 shades total—12 eyeshadows on top (a mix of mattes and shimmers) and 4 blushes on the bottom row. The color story is very soft pinks, mauves, peaches, and neutrals, which is totally my vibe. I stuck my finger in a shimmer shade right away and the texture was… fine? Like, it felt silky but there was a tiny bit of kick-up. I remember thinking the blushes looked a bit powdery in the pan. Honestly, my main initial thought was that it seemed like decent value for the price, but I was skeptical about how the shimmers would perform without a wet brush. My cat, Mittens, was immediately interested and tried to bat at the plastic wrapper, which was the highlight of the unboxing.
Week 1: The Adjustment Phase
So about ten days in, I was still figuring this palette out. I used it every weekday for work makeup. My routine is pretty quick—I barely have time for coffee before my 8:30 AM call—so I needed something easy. The matte shades blend out okay, but you gotta build them a bit. They’re not super pigmented with one swipe, which I actually didn’t mind for 7 AM application because it’s harder to mess up. The shimmers… I had doubts. Applied dry with a brush, they gave a very subtle, satiny sheen. Not the intense metallic punch I sometimes go for. I tried applying them with my finger, and that was better—more color payoff, more shine. The blushes were a pleasant surprise in terms of color (the peachy one is gorgeous), but they are firmly pressed. You really have to dig in with a dense brush to pick up enough product, which felt kinda wasteful. I was in a mild “meh” phase, thinking this was just another pretty palette that wouldn’t wow me.
Week 2-3: Starting to Notice
Okay here’s where it gets interesting. Fast forward to the middle of week two, and I started to appreciate the subtleties. Week 2 was also when my neighbor started some super loud home renovation project at 7 AM, so I was already grumpy and rushing even more than usual. In that rushed state, the user-friendly, buildable nature of these shadows became a secret weapon. I couldn’t overdo it if I tried. I found myself gravitating towards the mauve matte in the crease and one of the pinky-pearl shimmers all over the lid. It created this really soft, put-together look that lasted through my workday without creasing (over my normal primer). I also noticed the blush, once you got enough on the brush, wore really well. It faded evenly over 8+ hours instead of disappearing in patches. The “brightening” part of the name started to make sense—the shimmers have a luminous, light-reflective quality that makes your eyes look awake, not glittery. It’s a specific, office-appropriate kind of pretty.
Month 1: The Real Results
After a full month of near-daily use, my opinion has solidified. This isn’t a drama-and-smoke palette. If you want intense color or bold glitter, look elsewhere. What this USHAS palette does incredibly well is provide a range of flattering, everyday, workhorse shades. The mattes are now my go-to for soft definition because they blend into nothing so easily. The shimmers have grown on me immensely—their fine, pearl finish is perfect for daytime and doesn’t have any fallout, which is a huge win. I’ve hit pan on the peachy blush because I use it constantly; it gives the perfect healthy flush. The dual-layer concept (eyes on top, cheeks below) is genuinely convenient for travel or quick makeup. Did it transform my makeup game? No. But did it become the reliable palette I reach for when I need to look polished and awake without effort? Absolutely. One shade, a cooler-toned matte brown, is a bit patchy, but the other 15 work great together.
Would I Repurchase?
Yes, but with a caveat. I would absolutely repurchase this palette once I use up my favorite shades (looking at you, peach blush and pink shimmer). It’s become a staple in my collection for reliable, easy, pretty makeup. It’s not the most exciting product I own, but it might be one of the most used. It’s perfect for someone who wants a cohesive, all-in-one palette for soft, brightening everyday looks. If your style is more bold or colorful, you’d probably get bored.
You can grab it here if you’re curious.

The packaging seems way nicer than some other K-beauty imports I’ve tried. Those matte black cases usually feel cheap, but this one sounds solid.
Hey Matthew, it actually
